Author Profile: Eileen Herbert-Goodall

EileenHerbertGoodallHow and when did you decide, or discover, that you were to be a writer?

I have loved to write – essays, articles, fiction – since my teens. I’m inspired by great writers whose work I would love to one day emulate (in my own original way).

What inspired you to write flash fiction?

Probably a character who popped into my head and only had a short vignette to perform.

Describe your writing process.

I meditate every morning before I write or do any work. Otherwise, as a busy mum, I have to snatch writing time whenever I can…even school pick-up time will do!

What was the inspiration behind what was published on FewerThan500.com?

In Kate: A Story, my inspiration was the male character who had a sad story to share. (Read Eileen’s other story here.)

What are you working on now?

A short story collection and a novella.
